On the way to Beta 2 we have uploaded now a new nightbuild that comes with a lot of new features and fixes.

First of all, we have been working hard refactoring the Pattern (IDE) and the Smart Devices Generator in order to be able to design and built more powerfull apps: You can design different layouts for view and edit, more friendly layout editors have been added on top of the classic pattern tree view editor. In order to be able to build & show your creations very fast to your friends we enabled “Deploy to Cloud” in Ruby. More information: http://wiki.gxtechnical.com/commwiki/servlet/hwikibypageid?15046

Java generator has added REST support, you can now use Java as your backend for your Android SD apps (Blackberry will support it soon too).

Applications behave smooter too: Date and time pickers have been added, you can flip through records, two level transactions are supported.

Compatibility

-          Because of the refactoring, GX converts your WW SD Pattern instances when you open your KB. In some special cases you will need to redesign some instances.

-          The available online iOS Knowledge Base Navigator doesn’t work with the apps generated with this new build. A new KBN will be available in some days.
